Mitchell Cove Boats are built in 20', 32', 35', &
37' models. All sizes can be purchased in bare
hull kits or finished to any stage you desire.
Mitchell Cove Hulls were designed by Calvin
Beal Jr. They have an excellent sea-handling
capability and have been a popular choice for
Maine lobstermen for many years. All the hulls are very efficient, requiring less
horsepower for economical operation and can handle large diesel engines for high end
boat speed.
Our hulls are built with solid fiberglass or optional vacuum bagged foam cores, colored
gelcoats, vinylester resin skin coats, etc. The lamination crew takes great pride in
building the best hull possible for many years of service.
O'Hara Corporation has spent many years repairing boats that were not finished to the
best standards. From rudders, shafts, and engine mounts to lamination, bonding, and
hull or deck coring, we know from experience how to build it right. This gives Mitchell
Cove Boats an advantage when building your next boat.
All our hulls can be custom built for commercial lobstering, sport fishing, or recreational
coastal crusing. The 35 and 37 can be built for U.S.C.G subchapter T passenger
service.
Our most recent boats, shown at right, are the 32' "Feeding Frenzy" built for fishing
charters in the Caribbean, the 35' "Robin R", certified in 2008 for 16 passenger service
and used in Penobscot Bay, and a Mitchell Cove 20, with an externally mounted 140
hp 4-stroke outboard.
